Tornado

Six Flags SplashTown, TX
Hurricane Bay at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, KY
Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags St. Louis, MO
Six Flags Waterworld Concord, CA
No I didn't make a mistake. Six Flags (and their customers) must REALLY love funnel water park rides, because all five of the parks listed above, plus Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags America (see previous page) will be getting Tornados this season. The rides are a ball to ride and visually striking. To learn more about water park funnel rides, see my review and photos of High Anxiety at New Jersey's Mountain Creek water park.
New Names for two of Six Flags' California Water Parks
Funnel Water Park RideSix Flags Waterworld Concord, CA
Honolulu Halfpipe
Six Flags Waterworld Sacramento, CA
Both of the stand-alone California parks will get slight name tweaks and new attractions this season. The park that will now be known as Six Flags Waterworld Concord (formerly Waterworld USA Concord) will add a Tornado funnel ride, while the nearby Six Flags Waterworld Sacramento (formerly Waterworld USA Sacramento) will debut the Honolulu Halfpipe, a U-shaped contraption that will send riders careening back and forth to simulate riding a wave.
Edge
Halfpipe raft slideSix Flags Island Kingdom at Six Flags Elitch Gardens, CO
Based on the concept of a skateboard halfpipe like the new ride at Six Flags Waterworld Sacramento (see above), the Edge will send two-person rafts careening down over forty feet, and then zooming up the other side of its U-shaped slide. The rafts will dive back and forth until jets of water shoot them into Island Kingdom's lazy river, Castaway Creek. Mega-Wedgie
Speed slideWhite Water Bay, OK
If you've ever attempted a speed slide, you know what an apt name Six Flags chose for its new 64-foot tall, 277-foot long attraction. The ride supplements the Acapulco Cliff Dive, another White Water Bay speed slide.
Zooma Falls
Family Raft RideWild Waves, WA
Riders will navigate the 50-foot tall flume of twisting turns and drops in four-person cloverleaf tubes. The ride empties into Konga River, Wild Waves' lazy river. To see a rendering of Zooma Falls, go to the Six Flags Water Parks 2005 Preview Photo Gallery.
