Quick Facts
- Location: Magic Kingdom.
- 2012 dates: Sept. 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28, 30; Oct. 4, 5, 8, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 23, 25, 26, 28, 30, 31; Nov. 2. The event is presented at night, after the park closes for its regular daytime hours.
- Admission Info: The popular event, which requires a separate pass from the daytime park, often sells out, so you would be wise to purchase tickets in advance. (Besides, you can save on the admission fee most nights.) Tickets range from $55.95 to $69.95 for adults ($50.95 to $64.95 for children), depending on the day of the week and the proximity to Halloween. Go to Disney World's official site for ticket info.
- Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party photos
Unlike most parks, which forbid adults to come to their Halloween events in costume (lest they be mistaken for one of the park's paid ghouls), Disney World encourages guests, regardless of age, to go crazy with dress-up gear. Adults can also join their children in trick or treating throughout the park. Or I suppose if they don't have kids, they could relive their childhood memories and collect candy treats. Other highlights of the event include:
- Happy HalloWishes
Disney's Wishes fireworks show gets a haunted makeover with the villains taking center stage. Move over Tinker Bell, it's time for Maleficent to blow things up in the sky. - Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade
Things get off to a rousing start with the Headless Horseman making a run for it down Main Street, U.S.A. (That's not exactly not-so-scary, now that I think about it!) Mickey and the gang are also joined by grim, grinning ghosts and other denizens of the Haunted Mansion. - Select Rides
Speaking of the Haunted Mansion, the (entirely appropriate) ride will be open along with most of the major attractions at the Magic Kingdom for the event.
