Splash Lagoon The Cyclone Bowl Ride Review
Splash Lagoon Hurricane Hole Bowl Ride Review
Splash Lagoon is a good-size indoor water park with a great assortment of slides and water attractions. Its colorful tropical theme offers a warm and inviting ambiance. The park's centerpiece is the Tiki Tree House, which includes a huge tipping bucket, a couple of smaller water slides, and a bunch of hoses, sprayers, pumps, and other interactive gizmos to soak everyone on the play structure.
Among Splash Lagoon's unique features, it offers two bowl rides. The Cyclone accommodates one- and two-person tubes, while Hurricane Hole foregoes the tubes and sends riders down a body slide and into its bright orange and yellow bowl. Both send riders swirling around a few times before flushing them out the bottom. The tipping bucket alternates between dumping its torrent of water onto guests standing in front of the Tiki Tree House and onto unsuspecting riders in The Cyclone bowl.
Unlike most indoor water parks, which typically are part of a large hotel resort and restrict park admission to registered guests, Splash Lagoon is affiliated with four smaller hotel/motels and offers day passes to the general public. Three of the hotels are directly connected to the park by indoor walkways. The Econo Lodge, however, is across the street. The motel does provide a shuttle, but guests would need to bundle up in the winter to brave the cold.
In addition to the water attractions, the facility includes a Frog Hopper mini-freefall ride, a large arcade with simulator rides and redemption games, and an onsite restaurant, Boston's Gourmet Pizza.
