Wanna See What 128 MPH Looks Like?

Kingda Ka Six Flags coaster photo launchSix Flags, 2005. Used with permission.
At 128 MPH--which it reaches in 3.5 seconds out of the loading area no less--Kingda Ka is the world's fastest coaster. These lucky riders were among the coaster's first passengers. You have to love their reactions, which range from hanging on for dear life, to "Look ma, no hands," to "Oh crap!" Kingda Ka is part of a new 11-acre Golden Kingdom land at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. It borrows some of its African themeing from the adjacent drive-through Wild Safari.
