The park is similar to the two other Aquatica parks, which combine a great mix of water park slides and other rides, live animal exhibits (this is owned by SeaWorld, after all), and a highly themed and lushly landscaped environment. The park had previously been operated by the Knott's folks and was known as Knott's Soak City San Diego.

Among the highlights are Big Surf Shores, a huge wave pool. HooRoo Run includes two enclosed and two open tube slides. Other features include a lazy river, a family raft ride, and Walkabout Waters, an interactive water sprayground with a water bucket.

A high-speed mat racing slide will pit passengers against one another.
