Water World Colorado

Water World Colorado

Water World Colorado offers an incredible number of water slides and other ways to get wet.

Water World.
With a slew of water slides and other attractions set against a generous 64 acres, Water World is one of the biggest, and arguably the best water parks in the U.S. and beyond. Dating back to 1979, it is also one of the oldest water parks. In addition to the sheer number and variety of ways to get wet, the park also features some fairly sophisticated and highly unique attractions that combine the storytelling elements of a theme park dark ride (think of Pirates of the Caribbean) with an adventurous water park family raft ride. Its Voyage to the Center of the Earth and Lost River of the Pharaohs truly set it apart from other parks.

The Colorado park doesn't skimp on the thrills. From six-story tall speed slides to the high-banked hills of a half-pipe ride, to a launched water coaster, to bowl rides, there are plenty of ways to pump up the adrenaline while cooling down. But Water World offers a bunch of slides and other watery fun for young children, including Wally World, an entire dedicated area for wee folk. Older, but somewhat timid visitors can also find plenty to do with a lazy river, wave pool, and other low-impact attractions.

The park offers an impressive array of dining choices including the all-you-can-eat spread, Pharoah's Feast Buffet. Guests are welcome to bring their own food and drinks, and Water World provides picnic areas, which is a rare and welcome feature among major water parks. (Also rare and definitely welcome: The parking is free.)
