Schlitterbahn Vacation VillageSchlitterbahn Vacation Village Overview:
The Schlitterbahn folks are pioneers of the water park industry. They operate three parks in Texas, including the flagship Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. They also build water park attractions, such as the groundbreaking MasterBlaster uphill water coaster, for other water parks. For Schlitterbahn's first venture outside of the Lone Star State, it has an enormous water park resort planned for Kansas City.
The heart of the 370-acre resort will be a sprawling 40-acre water park. The impressive size will allow the innovative company to stock the park with all kinds of water rides and attractions. Like two of its Texas parks, guests will be able to float among attractions in tubes instead of waiting in lines. Schlitterbahn says that its water tube Transpotainment system will also connect riders to the resort's hotels, restaurants, stores, and other venues.
Bucking industry trends, Schlitterbahn will be offering many complimentary services, including free parking, free water tubes, and free life jackets. Also, the park will allow thrifty guests to bring their own food.
Guests will be able to enjoy water park fun year round when Schlitterbahn Vacation Village encloses some of its water attractions by 2011. Also, Schlitterbahn will be creating a true destination resort by introducing a hotel resort, a shopping and dining complex, and other entertainment options as it opens future phases planned through 2011.
