Overview:

Tucked inside the Legoland California theme park, the Lego-themed water park is relatively small at 5.5 acres. It doesn't have the number or breadth of attractions that larger parks offer. Unlike most other theme parks that offer water parks, Legoland charges an additional fee to enter its water park. (The upcharge is especially puzzling, since the water park is so small.)

As with the theme park, Legoland's water park is geared for the 12-and-under set. It doesn't offer a water coaster or other more thrilling water park attractions found at larger parks. It does, however, feature a unique "Build-a-Raft" attraction that jives with Legoland's hands-on ethos. Guests can grab soft Lego-shaped floats and attach them to inner tubes in the park's lazy river.

Water park passes require admission to the theme park. There is an additional fee to enter the water park.

One- and two-day passes to Legoland are available. Available ticket packages include admission to Legoland, the water park, and the adjacent Sea Life aquarium. Children 2 and under are free. Season passes are available. The park is open year round but is closed on some mid-week days during the colder months.

Directions:

Legoland is located just off Interstate 5, about 30 minutes north of San Diego. Take I-5 to Cannon Road East in Carlsbad and follow the signs to the park.
