Splashes is one of the few water parks located directly on the shore. While it offers a good amount of wet fun, it does beg the question: Why pay to get wet when the public beach on the other side of the park's fence offers free wet fun. In addition, many of the hotels along the Grand Strand include their own lazy rivers and other water park attractions as complimentary amenities for guests.
Then again, a combo water park/amusement park pass does provide decent value. Since the water park opens earlier than the amusement park (and closes earlier), families could make a day of splashing in the water park, taking a beach break in the afternoon, and returning to the amusement park in the evening.
