Worlds of Fun Theme Park Featured Attractions: With the well-regarded hypercoaster Mamba--3 minutes, 200+ feet, 75 mph--and the inverted coaster Patriot--4 inversions, 60 mph--leading the pack, Worlds of Fun should offer budding Evel Knievels everywhere their fill of thrill. Other rides at Worlds of Fun guaranteed to get your blood pumpin' and your heart thumpin' include Detonator, the first "space shot" ride of its type in the United States, and the classic wooden coaster Timber Wolf. There is also a good variety of rides and attractions for the younger crowd. Shows include a number of live musical and variety productions.

Worlds of Fun Overview: Worlds of Fun--owned and operated by the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company--is divided into five major sections: Scandinavia, Africa, Europa, the Orient, and Americana, each of which features its own rides, attractions, shops, shows, and restaurants themed in accordance with the name. The park offers multiple thrill rides, including the state-of-the-art scream machine Mamba, whose first hill takes riders more than 200 feet above the ground, then flings them back down at 75 mph. The inverted steel coaster Patriot delivers two minutes and 18 seconds of spine-tingling excitement. While hanging beneath the track, riders climb a 149-foot lift hill, then plunge down a 123-foot curved drop at 60 mph. This is followed by an 89-foot vertical loop, a zero-gravity roll, an Immelmann loop, an inclined banked curve, an s-curve, a corkscrew, and a high-speed spiral. Up-charge attractions include go-karts, a rock climbing wall, and the RipCord free fall Skycoaster.

For the more level headed (literally and metaphorically), Camp Snoopy invites kids to explore dozens of gentler rides and attractions with the world famous PEANUTS characters, including Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Snoopy. There is also a wide variety of live entertainment scheduled throughout the season, as well as the recurring HalloWeekends--Kansas City's largest collection of haunted attractions--scheduled throughout mid-Fall. (Note that theme park enthusiasts also have the option of staying overnight at the Worlds of Fun Village, a cabin, cottage, and RV resort.)
