Alabama Adventure Overview:
Originally known as Visionland, Alabama Adventure includes the Magic City USA amusement park and Splash Beach water park. Magic City is a relatively small park with two major roller coasters. The woodie Rampage rises 120 feet, has a first drop of 102 feet, and reaches 56 mph. It was designed by Custom Coasters International, the now-defunct firm that created wooden coaster masterpieces such as Raven at Indiana's Holiday World and Boulder Dash at Connecticut's Lake Compounce. Zoomerang is an off-the-shelf Boomerang coaster (which is pulled backwards up a lift hill, flies through the station, goes through some inversions, gets pulled forwards up a second lift hill, and retraces its route with riders facing backwards) found at many parks.
Most of the other attractions are standard-issue rides. The park offers a concert series that is included with admission. The adjacent Splash Beach water park is also included in admission and offers a decent collection of slides and watery fun.
