Captain Kidd’s Adventure Galley
The pirate-themed interactive water play structure in their water park will include six slides and a tipping bucket.

Kennywood

Swing Shot
An extreme swing ride, powered by compressed air.

Knoebels
Elysburg, PA
Flying Turns and XD Theater
The Flying Turns will be a bobsled-like wooden coaster. XD Theater will feature motion-simulator movie rides.

Seasme Place
Langhorne (near Philladelphia)
Elmo’s World
Themed area with three new kiddie rides.

TENNESSEE

Dollywood
Pigeon Forge (in the Smoky Mountains, near Knoxville)
Timber Tower and Fire Tower Falls
The $6.5-million dollar Timber Tower ride will be the first of its kind in North America and one of only a handful in the world. Passengers will board a ride vehicle that will spiral as it climbs a 65-foot tower that will also spiral. When it reaches the top, the tower will topple from side to side and narrowly avert jets of water from below. Fire Tower Falls are a pair of speed slides coming to Dollywood's Splash Country water park.

Libertyland
Memphis
The traditional amusement park, which included Elvis' favorite ride, the Zippin Pippin wood coaster, closed in 2005.

TEXAS

Believe and Pirates 4D
New multimedia Shamu stadium show and new 4D film atraction debuts.

Six Flags Astroworld

The park closed permanently last season.

New water park attractions
Armadillo Beach gets 3 new water rides, including the Whirlpool bowl ride. The new Splashwater Springs is an interactive water play area for younger kids.

Six Flags Over Texas
Arlington (near Dallas), TX
Ten new rides debut (some imported from Six Flags Astroworld), including La Fiesta de las Tazas teacups, the Sidewinder Scrambler, and an interactive water play area.

VIRGINIA

Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Williamsburg, VA
Improved Curse of DarKastle
Dates: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, Sep. 16 to Oct. 30.
The park is planning to add effects and make improvements to the wonderful motion-base dark ride it debuted last season. Read more about Curse of DarKastle.
