New roller coasters, new dark rides, new drop rides, new water rides: 2006 is shaping up to be quite a season at theme parks and amusement parks. No matter where you may live throughout North America or where your vacation travels may be taking you this year, there's bound to be some new excitement awaiting you.

The Disney Parks

While Disney's Happiest Celebration on Earth kicked off in May of 2005, the hoopla to mark Disneyland's 50th anniversary continues through the end of September, 2006. Read about the new attractions, special shows, parades, and other features that all Disney parks are presenting.

Once the Happiest Celebration on Earth wraps up in September, Disney will waste no time launching its next multi-park event. The "Year of a Million Dreams," which kicks off October 1 at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World in Florida, will award, through some kind of random giveaway, unique "dream" experiences to guests; and visitors will be able to pursue their dreams of flying, becoming a pirate, or turning into a princess by participating in new attractions and features to be unveiled at the parks and on Disney's Web sites.
