There is no shortage of water in Niagara Falls. The spectacular falls are the focal points of the popular getaway. But another mini water trend has emerged in the area: indoor water park resorts. They offer visitors the opportunity to don their bathing suits year-round and hoot and holler as they careen down water slides. No matter the weather, here's where you and your water-loving brood can plan a water park vacation.
Fallsview Indoor Waterpark
The enormous park is located inside a dome on top of a parking garage that, yes, overlooks the falls. It is part of the Falls Avenue complex and is affiliated with over 1000 rooms in three hotels: Sheraton on the Falls, Crowne Plaza Niagara Falls, and the Skyline Inn.
Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls
Part of the Great Wolf Lodge Resorts, the largest chain of indoor water park hotels, the Canadian location is quite large and offers compelling attractions such as the Niagara Rapids uphill water coaster and the Canada Vortex bowl ride.
Waves Indoor Water Park
It is smaller than the area's other two parks, but Waves offers a clear, retractable roof. In the cooler months, the glass enclosure allows lots of sunlight, while in the summer the roof can open to the outside.
