There are other enormous indoor water park resorts, many of which rival well-stocked outdoor water parks in terms of the number, variety, and flashiness of its slides and attractions. Two of the biggest and best (and among the industry's early pioneers) are in the water park capital of the world, Wisconsin Dells: Kalahari
at 125,000 square feet
and Chula Vista
at 110,000 square feet
The largest property in the Great Wolf Lodge chain is Great Wolf Lodge Niagara Falls (on the Canada side) at 103,000 square feet. Splash Lagoon in Erie, Pennsylvania is 102,000 square feet.
Two parks in the planning stages will each be about 100,000 square feet in size. A third sister park in the chain, the Kalahari Poconos is scheduled to open in early 2015 in the Pennsylvania mountains. And the first indoor water park in California, Great Wolf Lodge Garden Grove has been in development for some time, but no opening date has been confirmed.
