The No-Expiration Tickets Option and Purchasing Tickets in Advance

Walt Disney World Magic Your Way saving money deals

Get the most value with no-expiration and advance-purchase savings.

The 10-day pricing looks attractive, but why pay extra money if you're not going to use all 10 days? Because, you can bank the unused days by taking advantage of Disney's No Expiration option. Without the option, the Magic Your Way tickets expire 14 days after their first use. By paying an extra $15 (for a 2-day pass) up to $180 (for the 10-day pass), you can use the remaining days for a future trip. As the name implies, the tickets will be good indefinitely. Let's say you bought a 10-day ticket with the Park Hopper, No Expiration, and Water Park Fun options. That would get you 10 theme park-hopping tickets plus 10 water park passes for a total of $500. That works out to $25 per ticket--not bad. You could use 5 days for a vacation now, and the remaining 5 days for a future trip. Once you're spending that much money, however, you may want to explore Disney's annual pass options ($434 for the theme parks or $559 for the theme and water parks).

Disney used to offer an advance-purchase discount for tickets purchased online at its Web site. It has since eliminated the discount. It still might make sense to purchase tickets in advance, however, since it will save you time waiting in line during your vacation, and the hassle of having to making an impulse decision in the heat of your vacation.
