Carousels

Discover the gentle allure, artistry and nostalgia of the Flying Horses. Includes links to some classic carousels as well as carousel organizations and resources.
B&B Carousell
Coney Island, NY. This classic 1932 merry-go-round is the remaining one from the once-thriving amusement mecca. It still uses a ring machine. And no, that's not a misspelling. The sign on the Bowery has always read, "Carousell."
Playland
Westchester, NY. The traditional park has two early-1900s carousels.
Caro-Seuss-El
Islands of Adventure at Universal Orlando. Ride Seussian characters instead of horses.
Cinderella's Golden Carousel
Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, FL. The beautiful carousel that twirls just behind the castle is actually a 1917 transplant from a defunct New Jersey park.
International Museum of Carousel Art
Hood River (near Portland), OR. Museum dedicated to the preservation and history of carousels.
Carousel Yellow Pages
All kinds of info about carousels.
Carousels of New England
Photos and info about New England's spinning machines.
National Carousel Association
The purpose of the National Carousel Association is to promote conservation, appreciation, knowledge and enjoyment of the art of the classic wooden carousel and especially the preservation of complete wooden carousels. The site includes a census of carousels, preservation info, and even some band organ music files.
American Carousel Society
This group's aim is to preserve the few remaining operating "Golden-Age" carousels.
