My goal is to have the Web's most comprehensive list of U.S. theme parks. Be sure to include the name of the park, its location, phone number, Web site URL, and a brief description. Thanks!
Tahoe Amusement Park
Lake Tahoe
California
(530) 541-1300
Small, classic-style park.
The Flintstones Bedrock City
Custer (near Mt. Rushmore)
South Dakota
(605) 673-4079
Not a lot of rides, but you can tour Bedrock City and ride the Iron Horse train. (What does a steam engine train have to do with TV's stone age family? Beats me.) You'll have a yabba-dabba-doo time.
The Great Escape
Lake George
New York
(518) 792-3500
A somewhat schizophrenic park, The Great Escape has some fabulous attractions and ambiance for very young children. These hark back to the park's roots as a storybook park. When Six Flags took over, they shoehorned in some coasters and thrill rides, but did not completely destroy the wonderful charm of the storybook areas. Also features the highly rated Comet wood coaster.
The Holy Land Experience
Orlando
Florida
(407) 367-2065
You won't find the Holy Roller Coaster here (although, that may not be a bad idea!) or any other traditional park rides, but you will find religious-themed exhibits, theatrical productions, and other attractions.
Thrill-Ville USA
Turner
Oregon
Thrill-Ville closed in 2008.
Thrill Zone
Bromley Mountain
Vermont
(802) 824-5522
In the winter, it's a ski resort. In the warmer weather, the park features an Alpine slide, a zip line, bumper boats, chairlift rides, and gravity-driven go-karts (in other words, you ride down the mountain).
TOMB at 5WITS
Boston
MA
(617) 375-WITS (9487)
If you're looking for some unique fun in Boston, check out the brand new TOMB attraction. It's a highly interactive walk-through adventure chock-a-block with theme park and movie flourishes.
Trimper Rides
Ocean City
Maryland
(410) 289-8617
This traditional seaside amusement park has been delighting Ocean City vacationers since 1887. Rides include a beautiful carousel and a Wild Mouse coaster.
Tweetsie Railroad
Blowing Rock (near TN border)
North Carolina
(800) 526-5740
3-mile steam train ride. The park also features shows, a few rides, a chairlift, and panning for gold.
