It's a nice day for a wet wedding
Discovery Cove, the separate-admission Sea World Orlando park that offers dolphin swim experiences, will bring in an actual Justice of the Peace (which they refer to as a "Justice of the Beach") to preside over a group vow renewal ceremony. The park's bottlenose dolphins will act as witnesses. Couples that make the necessary arrangements could even get married at the Valentine's Day beach bash.
After the ceremony, Discovery Cove will provide strolling musicians, wedding cake, champagne toast, and a vow renewal certificate. According to park spokesperson Glen Haddad, about 40 couples participated in last year's event. As of late January, some spaces remained.
Lover-buoys
Discovery Cove also makes Special Occasion Packages available year-round to help suitors pop the big question, mark special anniversaries, or just say "I love you" in a grand--if odd--way. At $390, the park's Premium Package includes a buoy personalized with a special message (How about: "Water you doing for the rest of your life?") delivered by a dolphin, a bottle of Dom Perignon, a dozen roses, a video of the dolphin interaction, a private tent cabana (I don't want to even think about what might go on in those cabanas), and some other goodies.
For a mere $155, the Golden Ring Package offers the buoy, the dolphin delivery, the video, and some off-the-shelf champagne. Whatever you were going to do in that cabana will just have to wait until you get back to your hotel room. Discovery Cove hosts will keep your ring safely stored until the big moment with the dolphin.
Teetotalers (or cheapskates) can skip the champagne altogether and opt for the $75 Sweetheart Package. Discovery Cove also offers packages for birthdays and other special occasions.
