You read it first here folks--sort of. As I wrote back in January (before the rumor mill really began cranking), Universal Orlando has been planning a major project at Islands of Adventure based on an incredibly popular children's franchise. Today, Universal finally let the black cat out of the bag: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, based on, well, the incredibly popular children's books and films, will be coming to Islands of Adventure in late 2009. According to Universal, the new land will be a "theme park within a theme park" and feature multiple attractions. The Florida resort will undoubtedly use the releases of the fifth Potter film, scheduled for July 11, and the seventh and final book in J.K. Rowling's series, scheduled for July 21, to trumpet the new land.
