As the 2006 season winds downs next week at most of its parks, Six Flags is offering some great limited-time deals on its 2007 passes. As part of a "pre-season sale," the park chain is throwing in a bunch of incentives with its passes, including five one-day tickets for passholders to bring companions to their home parks, one companion ticket to visit another park (Six Flags passholders receive unlimited admission to all thirteen Six Flags-branded parks), and discounts on in-park merchandise. Borrowing a concept from Disney, which offers its on-property hotel guests exclusive access to its parks at certain times, Six Flags will open some of its parks for special passholder-only ride times next season. Previously, the chain announced that gusts purchasing passes would be entered into its
Dream Nite contest. Season pass prices vary by park. For Example, Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio charges $49.99, while
Six Flags New England in Agawam, MA, charges $69.99. Visit the
Six Flags site for more info.
In other Six Flags news, Reuters reports that the park chain will require all guests to wear shirts and shoes next season as it continues its efforts to adopt a more family-friendly vibe. Other new rules will ban offensive behavior, inappropriate clothing, and line jumping. (God bless 'em if they'll really enforce that last no-no.) This season, Six Flags banned smoking at its parks.
Comments
Even though Six Flags banned smoking, I found that it was not really enforced at many of the Six Flags parks I attended in 2006. (Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom though did better than most.) I always find enforcement of these rules to be lax or non-existant, which makes these policies basically useless. Here’s hoping that they actually work to enforce the new policies. I am not holding my breath though…
