California, Here We Come

Thursday March 2, 2006
The modern-day theme park, conceived and perfected by Walt Disney, made its bow over 50 years ago in California. While Disneyland is still going strong (and is in the middle of its 50th anniversary Happiest Celebration on Earth), the Golden State is filled with other great parks. Want to know what's on tap for the Left Coast? I've pulled together a rundown of all the attractions debuting this season at parks like Knott's Berry Farm, Legoland, and Six Flags Marine World in my 2006 California Ride Guide. And if you're planning a trip to the theme park-rich state, you'll want to check out my California Theme Park Vacation Deals page. Find out about Disneyland's Kids Fly and Play Free offer, Knott's Classic Package that includes hotel and park tickets for four people, and the Southern California City Pass that offers admission to five theme parks for one low price.
