Who Cut the Cheese?

"Disney Magazine" will be publishing its last issue this summer. The quarterly publication, which the Mouse House used to distribute to members of its Disney Club and Magic Kingdom Club, was also sold on newsstands and via general subscription the last few years. It was the place to go for the company’s official take on its theme parks as well as its films and all things Disney. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the magazine's circulation is in excess of 1 million and it has been profitable--but apparently not profitable enough. There is no word from the company about what, if anything, will be done to compensate subscribers. The last issue will focus on Disneyland's 50th anniversary. The doomed magazine is itself about 40 years old.
