One of the most popular episodes of one of the most popular sitcoms of the 1970s, The Brady Bunch, had the blended family visiting Kings Island. I'm not embarrassed (although I probably should be embarrassed) to admit that I remember seeing the original show when it first aired in 1973. It had something to do with architect dad, Mike Brady, pitching an addition to the park on behalf of his firm and mayhem ensuing when his rambunctious family misplaces the drawings. I distinctly remember the clan riding the twin track woodie, Racer.
I have some good news for Brady Bunch, park, and nostalgia fans: The Bradys will be returning to Kings Island on May 19. Well, three of the bunch, Barry Williams (Greg), Christopher Knight (Peter), and Susan Olsen (Cindy) -- what, no Marcia, Marcia, Marcia? -- will be returning. According to the park, the trio will share anecdotes, sign autographs, and appear in a show that will include singing and dancing. (There's no word whether the Brady actors will specifically participate in the singing and dancing, although that could be particularly, ahem, entertaining.)
By the way, the circa-1972 Racer is still a wonderful coaster (although it has been eclipsed in popularity by its bigger sibling woodie, The Beast, The Beast, The Beast). In fact, I rate Racer as one of parkdom's most underrated roller coasters.
