It wasn't too hard to find massive doses of wind over the last few days as Hurricane Irene unleashed its wrath in the U.S. starting in North Carolina. I hope all of our East Coast readers are safe, and I wish you well with your post-storm cleanup efforts. The Carolinas will get another blast of air, albeit the phony theme park version, when Carowinds unleashes WindSeeker next season. Like the same-named rides that opened this year at sister parks Kings Island, Cedar Point, Knott's Berry Farm, and Canada's Wonderland, the spinning attraction will send passengers 301 feet in the air (which will soar above the park's wonderful coaster, Intimidator) in feet-dangling, swing-style seats and rev them up to 30 mph at a 45-degree angle. Keep in mind, this will be 301 feet in the air. Yikes! As a bonus, WindSeeker will feature an elaborate light show and offer onboard music to accompany the nosebleed ride. You can see a preview of the ride in this Carowinds video.
