Forget about pirates, wizards, princesses, and killer whales. Florida theme parks will be rolling out the (blood-stained) red carpet for zombies, axe-wielding ghouls, scar-covered sickos, and an assortment of other sordid seasonal weirdos as Halloween events kick into gear starting in September. Florida's biggest monster mashup (and the best Halloween event anywhere) will be at Universal Orlando. The park hasn't released many details, but what is known is outlined at my Halloween Horror Nights 21 page. Although not as ambitious as Universal's scare-fest, Busch Gardens Tampa has lots of gore in store at its Howl-O-Scream. Disney World and SeaWorld, meanwhile, aim for the G-rated version of Halloween with their toned-down events. Get the lowdown on the Halloween high jinks in my 2011 Florida Scaredy Parks Guide.
