The Mummy Comes to Life at La Ronde
and Six Flags Takes the Wraps off Mr. Six

Wednesday February 11, 2009
The countdown is on as seasonal parks start getting ready for their spring openings. Beginning June 19, La Ronde, the Six Flags park in Montreal, will be presenting The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, Live. Described as a walk-through, interactive, haunted experience with live actors, the attraction will immerse visitors in the world of The Mummy films. The touring presentation, which debuted at Dreamworld park in Australia, will be at La Ronde for a limited run through early September. Yes, this is the same Mummy that's featured in the Revenge of the Mummy coaster/dark rides at Universal Studios parks in Florida and Hollywood.

It's certainly unusual to have one park company's icon setting up camp at another chain. But don't expect Mickey and Goofy to be riding Six Flags' coasters anytime soon. Six Flags is dusting off its own icon, Mr. Six, to promote the parks this season. The bow-tied elder and his exceptionally youthful happy feet were out of commission for a few years, but he appears to be poised for a major comeback. Get ready for TV ads with Mr. Six and his annoying, yet infectious theme music.
