More Revolting than Frightening

Friday September 26, 2008
Hey, I love coasters as much as the next park fan--maybe more. But, would I be willing to scarf down a superworm, caterpillar, larvae, or other critter to win front-of-the-line access on my favorite ride? Um, no. Apparently, some folks have a fearless factor and will, in fact, be lining up to chow down on insects at Six Flags parks during the chain's Fright Fest Halloween events.

Last fall, the parks invited guests to munch on cockroaches. This year, they've expanded the menu. Called the "Wheel of Fright," brave guests will spin a wheel which will land on the name of one of a number of insects. If the guest "successfully" swallows the designated insect, he or she will win prizes such as front-of-the-line access to rides, gas cards, and season passes. Did I mention the insects will be live? Yum!

How about you? Would you suck down a live larvae to ride the rails? Click on "Comments" below to let us know.

You’ve got to be kidding me!!! There is no way in H E double hockeysticks I would eat a live insect. At least not for something as lame as front of the line access, or even season passes. It would have to be for something way more valuable - like $500,000. Then - maybe.
