Things are Looking Up at Walt Disney World
Monday August 4, 2008
Despite a grim economy, Disney is continuing to whistle while it works--to the tune of a 9% profit gain for the fiscal third quarter that ended June 28. The company credited its parks and resorts, which posted a 5% revenue jump, for contributing handsomely to its princely financials. Revenue and crowds aren't the only things looking up at Walt Disney World. The Florida resort raised the prices of its theme park tickets effective yesterday (Sunday, August 3). A one-day, one-park ticket now costs $75. Yikes! It's a bold move, considering that other parks, such as Six Flags, have lowered their gate prices amid the gas price frenzy and other economic woes. With its Byzantine Magic Your Way ticketing program, however, it's possible to lower Walt Disney World's per-day ticket costs considerably by purchasing multi-day tickets. Are you planning a Walt Disney World trip? Or just curious about the resort's pricing? Check out my Walt Disney World Magic Your Way overview to decode all of the options and discover ways to put together a deal that would work best for you.
