Earthquake Rattles SoCal Parks
Tuesday July 29, 2008
The earthquake that hit California about 30 miles east of Los Angeles today at 11:45 a.m. Pacific Time gave area theme park visitors some unexpected thrills. Early reports indicate that the 5.4 magnitude quake, which is considered moderate, hasn't caused any major damage. According to Los Angeles-based About.com Guide, Kayte Deioma, Disneyland closed its rides to perform a safety check and evacuated guests at the Disneyland Hotel as a precaution. It's likely that the other Southern California parks closed their rides, at least temporarily, to assess any damage and ensure safety.
