Will Lower Six Flags Prices Offset Higher Gas Prices?
Friday May 30, 2008
It's the million-dollar question--or maybe the $4-a-gallon question--people keep asking me: Will higher gas prices lead to lower attendance at parks this season? I’m not an economist, nor am I a soothsayer, but I suspect it won’t have much of an effect. Regional parks offer a relatively inexpensive way to have warm-weather fun, and a few more dollars at the gas pump shouldn’t stop most visitors. I do think that some guests may compensate for the high cost of gas by cutting back on other purchases inside parks such as food and souvenirs. Six Flags is hoping to get more guests inside its parks by offering price drops at most of its properties. Generally, the chain has slashed $10 off the price of adult admissions. For example, New Jersey's Six Flags Great Adventure chopped $10 off its general admission price and is charging $49.99 at the gate. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, near San Francisco, also dropped its at-the-gate price $10 to $39.99. At Six Flags St. Louis, a reduced price of $34.99 will get adults into the gate. Savvy deal-hunters will want to know that all of the Six Flags parks offer even lower online prices. The New Jersey park is offering $39.99 tickets that can be printed at home; the Missouri and California parks are both charging $29.99 online. Are you rethinking your park plans this season because of high gas prices? Might ticket deals such as the ones Six Flags is offering encourage you to visit a park? I think six flags ky. kingdom should let their
customers know that they have some of the park
closed like twisted sisters other rides in the park are also closed . signs at the gate tell you before you enter but it is a little to late after you have already bought your season pass. The park just keeps getting worse every year workers are not friendly and helpful like at other parks, like kings island, holiday world, and indiana beach. i really think six flags needs a wakeup call!!!!
