Wiggle to Stay Warm at The Great Escape

Tuesday May 20, 2008
It's been said that there are two seasons in the Adirondacks: winter and the Fourth of July. That's an extreme take on the region, but the warm weather can be fleeting. That's why locals and visitors revel when the mercury rises. With weather reports predicting highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s tomorrow, Saturday's anticipated high of 74 degrees for Queensbury, New York, which is located at the outer edge of the Adirondacks near Lake George, sounds downright balmy. That's the home of The Great Escape, which will open its Splashwater Kingdom water park (included with general admission) this Saturday and invite guests to try out its new bowl ride, The Mega Wedgie. If 74 degrees sounds too intimidating for jumping into the water, The Great Escape is also debuting Wiggles World, an area on the dry side of the park that will have (very) young children wiggling along to rides and shows based on the popular TV program. The new land will also offer a Wiggles-themed restaurant. Characters from the show will be making a special appearance at the park on Father's Day, June 15. The Great Escape is part of the Six Flags chain, but the park does not carry the Six Flags brand name.
