Legoland Snaps Together Deal for New Dubai Park

Thursday May 8, 2008
The theme park news from the United Arab Emirates just keeps getting more outrageous. On the heels of announcements about new UAE parks from Six Flags, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, DreamWorks Animation, and a host of others, Merlin Entertainments Group now says that it will add a Legoland to the burgeoning mix. The park, which will be based on the famous plastic building toys and targeted to families with young children, will be similar to the existing Legolands in California, England, Denmark, and Germany. Merlin anticipates opening the Dubai property in late 2011. As with the other parks, UAE investors will fund and own the project, while Merlin will provide the creative concept, as well as its operations expertise.
