Park Yourself in Front of a Magazine

Monday April 21, 2008
Because you're reading this, you've embraced About.com's Theme Parks site (and probably the Web in general) as a resource for info about the wonderful world of parks--and for that I'm grateful. But if you're like me, you enjoy so-called traditional media as well. There are a number of printed publications devoted to our favorite topic, and I'm pleased to bring two of them to your attention. InPark Magazine, helmed by Martin Palicki, extends its purview beyond parks and covers museums, zoos, expos, aquariums, and other out-of-home themed experiences as well. It is primarily directed to professionals inside the industry, but fans would enjoy its in-depth articles and behind-the-scenes insights. Orlando Attractions Magazine is a new publication that focuses on Central Florida parks and is geared more to visitors and fans. The lively publication includes articles about new and upcoming Orlando-area developments along with recurring features about resorts, restaurants, and other topics to help parksters plan their vacations. There are even some park-centric comics and puzzles. Headed by Matt Roseboom and Ricky Brigante, Orlando Attractions is quite slick with crisp photos and sharp design. It's obvious that the people behind both of these magazines have a great deal of passion for parks and know the industry well.
