New Oklahoma Coaster for Cowboys (and Gals)
Monday April 7, 2008
Frontier City is making a late entry in the coaster class of 2008 with the announcement of Steel Lasso. An inverted coaster, the trains will be suspended from the track and will allow riders to dangle their legs ski-lift style. At a maximum height of 49 feet and a top speed of 30 mph, the coaster will fall firmly in the "family" category and should keep the thrills tolerable for all but the most wimpy park-goers. According to an AP report, the Oklahoma City park plans to begin construction on the ride this week and have it open early in the summer. To learn more about inverted coasters, read my review of Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm.
