KeyLime Cove Leaps into Indoor Water Park Fray
Friday February 29, 2008
The next time KeyLime Cove, the indoor water park resort that held its grand opening today in Illinois, will be able to celebrate its anniversary is 2012. That's the downside of scheduling a kickoff on leap year day. The latest entry into the Midwest's crowded field of indoor water park facilities, KeyLime offers many of the usual slide and ride suspects, such as a bowl ride, lazy river, and a wave pool. Capitalizing on an emerging technology trend at water parks, the resort offers its bathing-suit-clad guests the ability to go "cashless." Using touch-screen kiosks and wristbands embedded with trackable chips, guests are able to make purchases by waving their wristbands. The bands even replace room keys and room cards. David W. Anderson, better known as restaurateur "Famous Dave" and the founder of the Rainforest Cafe chain, is one of the principals behind KeyLime Cove. Predictably, he has brought some unique dining concepts to the resort, including DW Anderson’s Eatery & Ice Cream Parlor and the Crazy Toucan Margarita Grille. KeyLime Cove is located in Gurnee, near Chicago and Milwaukee and adjacent to Six Flags Great America. Read more about KeyLime Cove Water Paradise Resort.
