Flagging Down Spring--Finally!

Friday February 29, 2008
Spring won’t officially begin for another few weeks, but tomorrow--hallelujah--is March, and this weekend--double hallelujah--some of the seasonal theme parks will reopen their gates. The temperature may still be bone chilling here in New England (where yet another snowstorm is forecast for tonight...grrrrr), but southern climes should be more forgiving and appropriate to catch some coaster fun. Among the parks scheduled to welcome its first guests for 2008 are Six Flags Over Georgia and the original park in the chain, Six Flags Over Texas. The Atlanta-area park will be getting a Thomas the Tank Engine land this season that should delight younger visitors. In Texas, Tony Hawk's Big Spin, a family-friendly spinning coaster, will debut along with a new 3-D movie ride, Fly Me to the Moon.
