Does David Blaine Know about This?

Monday January 14, 2008
Did you ever want to tell your boss to "take this job and shove it" so that you could go hang out at theme parks? This could be your lucky break. To hype round two of its Year of a Million Dreams, Disney is staging a contest to name a Chief Magic Official (CMO) for its U.S. parks. As with last year's Disney's Dream Job (for which contestants vied to become pirates, princesses, and other park cast members), entrants in the Search for the CMO contest will submit a video resume to apply for the Magic Official position. Disney brass will winnow the submissions to ten finalists, and visitors to the Dream CMO site will vote, American Idol-style, for the grand prize winner. The chosen CMO will travel to theme parks and other events with expenses--and an hourly wage--picked up by Disney. The deadline to submit a video is January 27, 2008, and the winner will be named in late March. For more information about the contest, visit the Search for the CMO site. The part-time job will entail only about 20 days of "work" and will end in April 2009. Perhaps you should forget about telling the boss to shove it after all.
