Indoor water park resorts are popping up everywhere these days, but Sandusky, Ohio (home of Cedar Point) is emerging as one of the hotspots for the red-hot trend. Already home to a Great Wolf Resort, Kalahari Ohio (the largest indoor water park resort in the U.S.), and Castaway Bay (operated by Cedar Point), the Lake Erie vacation spot will get yet another location when the Maui Sands Indoor Water Park Resort opens in April. The park will feature a decent complement of water park attractions including a SurfRider surfing simulator (which will allow real surfboards for stand-up surfing as well as the body boards allowed on most SurfRider attractions), the CannonBowl bowl ride, a lazy river, and MakaMaka Treehouse, an interactive water play center with small slides and a tipping bucket. The water park will also offer an indoor and an outdoor whirlpool spa, a rooftop sun deck, and private cabanas. Read more about the Maui Sands Indoor Water Park Resort.

Maui Sands Resort
we were robbed while staying there.
It is going to fail, too many of them up there. Went to Kalahari, just a big, unfriendly money machine. Castaway Bay never gets anything new, same with Great Wolf Lodge. Nice idea, but Kalahari has too many rooms and will start giving them away for 1/3 the price to get people in there. Nelson really gambled on this and he is going to lose big time.
