Iowa Water Park Fun--Even in a Storm

King's Pointe Waterpark Resort in Storm Lake, Iowa (about 2 hours from Des Moines or Omaha) is yet another water park resort that recently opened. The indoor water park is quite small compared to most facilities, but it does offer some nice features and a weatherproof way to have some water fun. The centerpiece is the Electric Eel, an enclosed "interactive" raft ride. Guests choose a theme before riding, and imagery is projected onto water screens inside the tube along with accompanying sounds. King's Pointe also offers an outdoor water park (weather permitting) with attractions that include speed slides, the Twisted Tornado bowl ride, and another interactive slide, Discovery Plunge.
