Splash (in the) Mountain

Thursday November 29, 2007
Tennessee's Smoky Mountains area, home to Dollywood theme park, will be getting some new water parks. A few weeks ago, I wrote about the Wild Bear Falls indoor water park resort that recently opened in Gatlinburg. Now comes word that there will be a Wilderness at the Smokies indoor water park resort by 2009 and The Water Resort at Pigeon Forge in spring 2008. The pyramid-shaped Water Resort at Pigeon Forge will sport an Aztec theme. It will be relatively small by industry standards and will not include any marquee attractions such as a water coaster or a funnel ride. It will, however, offer standard water park features such as water slides, a lazy river, an activity pool, an interactive water play structure, and toddler play areas. Read more about The Water Resort at Pigeon Forge.
