And the a...the a...Thea Award Goes To...
Friday November 23, 2007
Yesterday, I highlighted my picks for the best theme park attractions, and a few days ago, I wrote about the New Product Awards that the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) presented at its annual Attractions Expo which just wrapped up in Orlando. Another organization, TEA (formerly the Themed Entertainment Association), also announced awards at the IAAPA Expo. Known as the Theas, the 2007 recipients included the Thea Classic Award to the original SeaWorld park in San Diego, and Thea Awards for Outstanding Achievement to the groundbreaking Kim Possible World Showcase Playtest at Epcot in Walt Disney World and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage at Disneyland. The organization also announced 15 other awards to museums, touring events, and other related recipients as well as other theme parks. TEA will present its 2007 awards at a formal ceremony in March to be held (conveniently enough) at the Disneyland Hotel.
