Vegas Project Goes for the Indoor Water Park Jackpot
Will Be North America's Largest
Thursday February 8, 2007
Last week, I wrote about the mega indoor water park resort and casino that's being developed with the working name, Las Vegas Wet. With the water park's announced 250,000-square-foot size, I said that I had to go back and rewrite my feature, A Lotta Water: Who Has the Biggest Indoor Water Parks?. Well, I had to rewrite it again. According to Steve Dooner, CEO of Las Vegas Wet, the project's developers just boosted the indoor water park's design plans to a gargantuan 350,000 square feet. That'll be over 8 acres of indoor water park attractions. When it opens in late 2009 or early 2010, Las Vegas Wet will easily be able to claim bragging rights as North America's largest indoor water park. Among the features already revealed for the audacious project: an indoor uphill water coaster that will be powered by pneumatic blasts of air, 23 acres of outdoor water park fun, two entertainment/restaurant/nightclub areas, two hotels, and an indoor snow dome. Dooner says that he'll have some additional surprise attractions to announce for the expanded indoor water park.
