Lots of Change at Cedar Point
Thursday December 21, 2006
'Tis the season to find the holiday spirit and make charitable donations. But Ohio’s Cedar Point, which recently donated $7500 to a nearby soup kitchen, didn't tap its corporate coffers for the gift. According to the Associated Press, it found the donation by looking under its coasters at the end of each operating day this past season. The money was the accumulated loose change that visitors lost while tossing and turning on the park’s legendary collection of thrill machines. Talk about a shakedown. With the opening of Cedar Point‘s 17th coaster, Maverick, next season, perhaps the donation will be a little larger next year.
