I Spy: Six Flags Great America

Tuesday December 5, 2006
For the 2007 season, Six Flags Great America in Illinois is forgoing the thrills of a new coaster and going for the skills of a major stunt show. The Chicago-area park will present an action-packed, original presentation called "Operation SpyGirl." The creator of the popular TV program, "24" is developing the show. (Perhaps computer nerd Chloe O'Brian will be SpyGirl's alter ego.) Like the edge-of-your-seat "24," SpyGirl will race to save the world against the backdrop of a ticking clock. According to Six Flags, the chain hopes to bring the show to other parks in the future and develop a franchise that might include merchandise, rides, and other spin-offs (assuming the show and its characters will be a hit). The high-profile stunt show is part of Six Flags' new strategy to reposition its parks as more family-friendly.
