Stars are Aligned at Cypress Gardens for Revamped Coaster
Monday November 13, 2006
Despite financial woes, Florida's Cypress Gardens is moving ahead with its plans to bring back the Starliner wood coaster. The classic woodie, which thrilled patrons at the now-shuttered Miracle Strip Amusement Park in Panama City, Florida for many years, will ride the rails once again when it opens at its new home next spring. The 70-foot tall coaster will be considerably taller, faster, and longer than Cypress Gardens' current signature thrill machine, Triple Hurricane. In addition to the new/old coaster, the Florida park will introduce Bugsville, a new children's area with kiddie rides, an interactive play structure, and a theater. Between now and December 24th, Cypress Gardens is granting free admission to guests who have a valid season pass to any other park.
