Indoor Water Parks Have Mass Appeal

Friday November 3, 2006
The indoor water park juggernaut continues as New England gears up for its first major indoor water park resort. The CoCo Key Water Resort at the Sheraton Ferncroft in Danvers, Massachusetts is slated to open next May. Danvers is located on Boston's North Shore and is about 19 miles from the city. It will include body slides, a two-person raft slide, kiddie slides, an indoor/outdoor whirlpool spa, an activity pool, and an interactive play structure with tipping bucket. The resort will be part of a chain of indoor water park hotels. Other locations are planned for Illinois and Ohio. One of the chain's signature attractions, which is also planned for the Massachusetts park, will be the "Dip-In Theatre," a shallow pool with a constant display of movies and cartoons for younger guests.
