All the Creatures are Stirring--Especially the Mouse

Tuesday October 10, 2006
It may be the season of the witch and time for Walt Disney World's Halloween hoopla, but before you know it, the jack-o'-lanterns will be replaced by candy canes and Jingle Bells will be playing. Santa meets Mickey: It's a perfect partnership based on warm nostalgia and unabashed corniness. Like some idealized Currier and Ives vision tucked away in our collective conscious, Walt Disney World delivers a holiday wonderland of epic proportions. Dozens of impossibly perfect Christmas trees (they used to be real, but Disney replaced them with artificial ones a few years ago), miles of garland, millions of twinkling lights, and other holiday signposts appear overnight and transform every corner of the resort. Read about Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Epcot's Holidays Around the World, Disney-MGM Studios' Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights, and other holiday happenings.
