Believe it or not, Ripley’s Opens in Williamsburg
Monday August 28, 2006
While they’re not theme park attractions, the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! (the exclamation point in not an editorial comment, it’s part of the name) museums do incorporate park-like features to present their trademark exhibits of oddball curiosities. The latest Ripley’s, which recently opened in Williamsburg, Virginia, offers odes to the wacky and weird such as a dress made entirely of guitar picks and an actual shrunken head (now that’s what I call entertainment). The new complex also includes a 4D theater that shows an assortment of 3D films with 4th-dimension sensory ticklers like wind and water spritzes. With attractions such as the Colonial Williamsburg living museum, Busch Gardens Europe, and the Great Wolf Lodge indoor water park, Williamsburg is already a vacation hot spot.
