Disney doesn't Call them "Value" Resorts for Nothin'
Monday July 17, 2006
If you want good deals (and smaller crowds) for your theme park vacations, you have to zag when everybody else is zigging. Since kids go back to school in late August and business trails off, Florida's Walt Disney World offers some great rates, like this year's $64-per-night late summer deal for value resorts such as the Pop Century. If you want to take advantage of the offer, book by August 18 for stays August 27 through September 30. See my Florida Travel Deals page for more info about this and other ways to save funds when you plan Sunshine State fun. Speaking of Walt Disney World's hotels, my About.com colleague, Hotels Guide Charlyn Chisholm, has a great photo gallery of Disney's newly restyled Contemporary Resort. (That's the one with the monorail running through its lobby.) Charlyn says that it was getting a bit anachronistic to label the dated property "contemporary," but the makeover has given it a hip, bold look.
